abstract expressive painting

Petworth House
27th June - 1 day
10.30 am – 4.30 pm

Cost £90 (including all materials)

Join this one-day workshop to create expressive paintings in a playful response to music. I will guide you through creating a selection of abstract and expressive paintings in response to music.. Whilst a variety of music plays, from jazz to electronic and classical, use your intuition to practice markmaking and become familiar with textural surface qualities playfully, using a range of brushes and tools. Throughout the day you will create 4-6 paintings using acrylic paint on high-quality paper. You will explore colour; mixing hues and tones to create mood, light, and atmosphere. References to works by Turner, Kandinsky Paul Klee, to name a few, will be made to exemplify key learning points and help make sense of abstraction.
